To quote president Donald Trump, why would it not be a golden age…? There is a lot going for the world today when there is bona fide and common sense at play.
I think the proverbial glass is half full.
How Australia responds to the global matters and new relationships, both trade and otherwise formed, there should also be a golden age for Australia.
The prospects of an interest rate cut in the foreseeable future should assist to stimulate the economy and help with economic growth. This creates massive opportunities for business.
I have been assisting corporations for years with strategic business and commercial advice.
I found many of these businesses simply riding the wave when the tide comes in. These businesses do well, but the owners might not really understand the value drivers for why it is going so well or for how long it will be going well. Business owners often know how to create and invest in capacity, but the opposite.
I recall assisting a client in 2016 to rescue their business and to scale back following a massive bust in the resource sector a year or two priors, not being able to meet their commitments. The business, then much more “agile”, continued to prosper before being sold to an interstate competitor.
Being able to thoroughly understand the value drivers and to do strategic scenario planning, not helps to avoid the pitfalls with economic cycles, but also informs decisions that drives growth and wealth creation.
To facilitate strategic business planning, I develop a custom commercial model for each client business. This becomes the centre piece of the ensuing conversations. It further serves multiple other purposes, e.g. board tracking of growth trajectory, the business rolling financial budget (for years ahead) as well as a bankable business case for securing finance with lenders.
I normally stay engaged to assist with these conversations and with a skills transfer for business owners to understand business and commercial principles as opposed to only their industry, which they already know better than anyone else.
To be prepared regardless of whether the tide is in or out, reach out to me to further discuss.
